Although these are no beach pictures from Australia just yet, I’m already gonna tell you about my first day in Melbourne. These pictures were taken at Carmel Beach between Los Angeles and San Francisco – it’s a beautiful beach on the scenic Big Sur drive. I’ll show you a few more pictures from my stay in the U.S. within the next days. Yesterday morning I finally arrived in Melbourne after 36 h ‘on the road’. My first impression of the city is good! I’m not blown away, but I like it! It’s a fun mix between Dallas, Dubai and Hamburg, because of the ‘american architecture’, lots of skyscrapers and cranes and water. Unfortunately, the weather isn’t on our side right now and its super grey, cool and rainy. We were exploring the city for a bit and went to the movie theatre to watch The Revenant (amazing acting, camera, pictures, sound effects but horrible ‘storyline’ and way too brutal for my taste). Today we’re going to Fitzroy and St. Kilda to the beach. Tomorrow we’re planning a day trip to the 12 Apostel. Do you have any other ‘must-see’ tips for Melbourne? On Sunday we’re actually flying to Queenstown, New Zealand where we’ll be for four days before we continue to Brisbane (just one day) and then Hamilton Island and Great Barrier Reef and then we’ll fly to Sydney for our last week. I’m so excited to be here, although I still can’t really realise that I’m at the other end of the world.
Some of you probably have seen this cape on my instagram (luisalion) before. I recently wore it as a scarf in Hamburg, because it was soo cold and I didn’t have a proper scarf 🙂 On the beach in Carmel, however, I wore the poncho how it’s supposed to be. It’s one of the great deals I scored while shopping at 5th Off in Beverly Hills. The cape and blouse are both from Calvin Klein and the ripped boyfriend jeans are also new from Forever 21. Somehow, I’m always happier at the beach and I think you can also see that in my face 😉 It just makes me happy to breathe the fresh air, listen to the waves and watch the sun set down. My Calvin Klein Cape kept me warm and cozy 🙂
Those pink Adidas Los Angeles (yes, really the name!) sneaker are not the perfect shoe for this rather beige outfit, but I didn’t have many options while traveling with small luggage. Fun fact: Those shoes were the most sold item through my blog in 2015. For a good reason! I love wearing them! Although you should order them in one size smaller, because they tend to fit very tight. Have you ever been to Carmel or Big Sur? It’s one of the most beautiful places in California in my opinion, because it’s so calm and just nature and you 😉
